Frequently asked questions

Functionality

  1. I‘ve just installed Frienalyzr. Why can‘t I see a history of my followers or which followers I‘ve lost in the past? - Whenever Frienalyzr analyzes your account(s) it can only see what‘s going on right now. It cannot look into the past. But when you start an analysis next time, Frienalyzr will see the differences between the current and the last analysis. This is e.g. how it finds new or lost followers. So, the more often you use Frienalyzr, the better the results will be.
  2. How can I find what my most popular posts are? - Just tap „Posts“ and then the sort icon.  Then pick order by „Likes“ or „Comments“.
  3. How can I see who‘s not following me anymore? - Go to „Friends“ and choose „Lost followers“ from the drop down list in the title bar.
  4. When is Frienalyzr released for iOS? - Currently the app is developed and maintained by one person only - me, Sven Kästner. I‘m a professional software developer from Germany and can only work on the app in my free time. Nevertheless I expect to have the iOS version ready in Q2/2018.

Data privacy

  1. Why do I have to enter my username and password when registering my Instagram account? - Frienalyzr needs to read information about your posts, followers, likers etc. from Instagram. To do so, it needs access to your account(s).
  2. Is my data save? - From the beginning Frienalyzr was developed with security in mind. No one except you should be able to access your data. This is why Frienalyzr does keep all data on your phone and does all processing locally. Furthermore all sensitive data is securely stored and encrypted.
  3. Why does it take so long to analyze my account? - When you start the analysis of your data, Frienalyzr has to download information about all your posts, your followers and the people you are following to your device.
Depending on the number of your posts and friends and the speed of your internet connection, this might take between several seconds and several minutes.
Then this information is stored and analyzed on your device. Which also takes some time, because mobile devices are a lot slower than normal computers.
